Digital toserve,
human towelcome.
We are hosts who made a choice: in a world racing toward total automation, we stay present. WelcomeGuide was built on this conviction.
Hospitality cannot be
delegated. It is lived.
You can automate the Wi-Fi password, the boiler instructions, the bin collection schedule. You cannot automate the look of someone who welcomes you at the door, the advice born from lived experience, that local secret shared only in person.
We automate the logistics
Everything a guest needs to move around independently — Wi-Fi, instructions, rules, emergency contacts, maps — is on their smartphone in seconds.
We preserve the human experience
Our local recommendations don’t come from algorithms analysing reviews. They come from us having been there, knowing the owner by name, knowing when the light is perfect in that museum.
Check-in is a relationship
That moment isn’t logistics — it’s when we begin to understand who you are, what you’re really looking for from this journey, and guide you toward the authentic soul of the territory.

A lifetime in tourism.
A tool built in the field.
My name is Gianmarco and I have dedicated my professional life to tourism. As owner and host of theCagliari Town Center Apartment— a renovated luxury apartment in the heart of Cagliari’s historic centre, Sardinia — I live every day the challenge of welcoming travellers to a land where hospitality is a deep value, not a corporate function.
My guests are almost exclusively international: Germans, French, Spanish, British. This means the guide must work in multiple languages, the AI must respond in German at 11 PM, and every piece of information must be precise for someone who doesn’t know Cagliari, doesn’t speak Italian, and has no local network to rely on.
Daily hands-on experience led me to createWelcomeGuide— not as a response to a market trend, but as a solution to a concrete problem I lived every day. Every feature of the platform is tested first on this property, with real guests, in real conditions. If it doesn’t work here, it doesn’t get released.
I firmly believe thattechnology must serve humanity, not replace it: we automate logistics to free up the time needed to create real connections. Because true hospitality requires two bodies, two gazes, two presences.
Our manifesto of
human hospitality
These are not values written on a corporate slide. They are operational choices we make every day as hosts, before we are a platform.
1The Truth of Lived Experience
+
We don’t recommend places because they’re popular on an algorithm, but because we’ve been there and laughed within those walls. Our advice changes because we change — we follow a restaurant’s evolution over years through real relationships, not automated crawlers.
Every recommendation carries a micro-story born from the unexpected and the encounter: elements that AI cannot reproduce.
2In Praise of Imperfection
+
AI seeks statistical perfection. We seek the authenticity of a bar with worn-down tables where the coffee tastes like home. A wobbling table or a gruff waiter are signals of uniqueness — proof that a place is built to last locally, not to scale globally.
We choose based on criteria that cannot be coded: the light at a certain hour of the day, the passion in an owner’s voice.
3The Responsibility of Trust
+
Behind every recommendation there is a face and a heart. We take responsibility for guiding you as we would guide an old friend — we only recommend what we would choose for our own family. We share a treasure, not a standardised service.
The physical meeting creates a bond of trust. Looking each other in the eyes, reading tiredness or excitement: these are rituals that cannot be replicated by an SMS code.
4The Value of Time, Not the Click
+
We celebrate the conversation and the secret shared aloud. Check-in isn’t just key collection — it’s the reception of emotional coordinates. An AI responds in milliseconds but cannot listen to the unspoken, the hesitation that reveals a desire.
We teach guests to see, not just to visit. We refuse the god of efficiency to honour the quality of the human experience.
5Experience as Ontological Proof
+
AI manipulates symbols but has no body that feels warmth, cold or satiety. Hospitality is a bodily art. Only by physically entering a market do you understand its essence through smells and sounds. AI describes — humans feel.
Travel is physical transformation: tiredness, a tan, new flavours. These are the signs that you were truly somewhere.

The AI Receptionist in action — Real examples
“Wo finde ich Handtücher?”
(Where are the towels?)
The AI Receptionist repliedin Germanwith the exact location of the towels, how linen changes work and where the cleaning kit is stored. The host was never contacted.
“Quelle plage me conseilles-tu ce matin?”
(Which beach do you suggest this morning?)
With moderate east wind that day, repliedin Frenchrecommending Poetto beach (sheltered) and advising against the west coast coves — using live weather data integrated into the guide.
“Is there a good fish restaurant near the port?”
Repliedin Englishwith three port restaurants personally chosen by the host — including a note on the catch of the day and which dish to order.
“¿Cómo funciona el aire acondicionado?”
(How does the air conditioning work?)
Repliedin Spanishwith step-by-step instructions — the same as the property manual, automatically translated and contextualised by the platform.
The future of hospitality
is courageously human.
In ten years, artificial intelligence will have made every trip perfectly predictable. Hyper-personalised algorithms will analyse your history, your tastes, your hidden preferences better than you know them yourself. Optimised itineraries. Automated homes. Simulated smiles.
Everything will be efficient. Frictionless. Perfect. And in that future, someone — perhaps many — will notice that something is missing. The risk of encounter. The surprise of imperfection. The gaze of a human being who chose to be there, for you, in that moment.
Because hospitality is not a function to be optimised.
It is a gesture to be preserved.
It is an art to be passed on.
It is a choice renewed every time someone knocks at the door.
